Futures Forum

The District is positioning itself as a city of the future and the WeDC Futures Forum finds itself at the intersection of public and private sector efforts to showcase all the city has to offer as the “Capital of Inclusive Innovation.” Attendees will take part in free programming, networking, podcasts, pitch competitions and more, to learn global best-practices for cities to solve complex urban challenges, and what it takes to build a more equitable future for all including an inclusive economy, diverse and talented workforce, and dynamic communities across four tracks.

Find out how the District is preparing for the future through the implementation of technology via a digital transformation. Discover how Washington, DC is leading international cities to influence world changing ideas and develop key policies that will prepare the city for future generations to come. Focus areas include smart cities, governance, resiliency and mobility.

Learn how public and private stakeholders are working together to solve some of the world’s most challenging issues, using technology and innovation, as we plan for the future leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, effects of 5G, and more.

Discover how Washington, DC is taking an equitable and citizen focused approach to the city’s inclusive economy including workforce development, health and wellness, and social responsibility. DC leaders will discuss the future impacts for businesses, residents and communities.

Join a conversation with industry experts, policymakers, and community leaders on Washington, DC’s opportunity to lead the nation as the capital of inclusive cannabis. Explore how setting up a legal sales and tax regime for adult use marijuana will unlock opportunities for new business ventures, employment, and community reinvestment in the District.
